My Name is Divya Khandelwal and I am majoring in Design and Management at Parsons The New School of Design. I enjoyed my first year at The New School but one thing I missed was a sense of community on campus. The only way I found myself being a part of this community was by being actively involved in various organizations like The Students Activity Board, Students Activity Finance Committee, The International Club and Parsons Students Senate. Through my experience with all of these organizations I have found the community I was seeking but wish to help others get involved as well.
As a representative of Parsons and a member of USS I would want to encourage more involvement of the Parsons student body to be a part of this community of diverse culture provided by The New School. I would also look forward to help the existing student programs and organisations at Parsons to improve their goals and establish them successfully to give them a sense of comfort and trust.
I am looking forward to meeting and interacting with other people who share my interests. By being a part of USS I would also feel like I am giving back to my school Parsons from which I have benefited so much. I am a keen participant of socially useful productive work and I am looking forward to being a part of this esteemed program. Given the opportunity, I shall prove to be a worthy asset to this program.
