Christin Pettibone
I have been very interested in joining Student Senate since my hall director first told me about it as a way to initiate a student discount program I wanted to create. Among school, multiple jobs, my position as Hall Council President at Stuy Park, and as a MetOpera Student Ambassador, Student Senate was not a possibility (Stuy’s Hall Council did collaborate with PSS, though). I am all about helping out fellow students no matter how that may be. I know it can be hard to balance school, work and extracurriculars and finding ways to help other students succeed in such endeavors can be invaluable to students of all levels. I will be working as an RA at Stuy Park next year and I believe I can be an even better asset to Parsons Student Senate while working so closely with students in the dorm. I am all about getting things done, and doing such with efficiency and success. I have had experience in (peer) leadership positions since the age of ten as a Student Ambassador with People to People, continuing on to work as an officer in multiple art and honor societies throughout high school and now as Hall Council president and as an ambassador with the MetOpera. I wish to be a part of bettering Parsons and the entire New School University and I believe our youth puts us at an advantage as Pearl S. Buck said, “The young do not know enough to be prudent, and therefore they attempt the impossible, and achieve it, generation after generation.” I wish to take part in Parsons Student Senate to help accomplish anything and everything that we attempt to do.
