Lang::Santiago Posas

Santiago Posas
My name is Santiago Posas, and I am a rising senior and history major at Lang. I was born in this country, but grew up in Guayaquil, Ecuador. In my time here, I have seen what I feel is a fundamental disconnect between our administration and student body. Many administrative processes that affect students have no student input whatsoever, or involve students only marginally. Even successful, thriving student activities and clubs have serious issues obtaining funding and support from the administration. I want to ensure that students have access to the resources necessary for success, and that students are sufficiently protected by the university’s policies. If elected to the Student Senate, aside from fighting along with the Senate for more student space and a standalone library, and helping to manage our funds and support students from Lang and the broader university who are doing cool things, I intend to work to bring systemic power to the student body; not simply as a grant, but as a right.
