The New School

The New School is at a crossroads. An administration no longer in touch with students and faculty needs. Students without study space. Graduate students sorely lacking in resources.

As an experienced student leader with experience working in student government, I have the capacity to work towards a university focused around its most important element – the student body itself. I believe that the University Student Senate has the potential to exact real change on the administrative and educational facets of the New School. We need to be paving the foundations now for the New School we want to see in five years – a school with ample resources for students with a viable building on 65 5th Ave open for use and student space, a school with an administrative body working in daily connection with students, a school which remains committed and built around the needs of committed, forward looking social research.

As Student Government Senator at the University of Central Florida, I was able to work for an expansion of “Free Expression Areas,” pass resolutions supporting socially responsible investment, and work towards student representation on the highest administrative body at a university, the Board of Trustees.

I am committed to the notion of a university that is both environmentally and economically accountable. A university self-managed by students, faculty and staff working together in a respectful and open manner. If elected to USS, I will bring these beliefs to bear upon the workings of our central student body.

As a proud student of NSSR, I want to work to build a university of which we can all be proud. A vote for me is a vote for a university that will listen to its students, and hold its administration accountable.
