The New School

We Milano students are challenged to experience our degree-not simply read and regurgitate. We are the policy makers, managers, fundraisers, the movers and shakers.

As a second semester, full-time student at Milano, I have had ample time to survey the diverse set of initiatives brought forth by both University Student Senate representatives and other student groups to guarantee that The New School University is once again rooted in its founding principles of intellectual and artistic freedom. Given my background in economics and private sector management, I also understand the structure of the institution from a business standpoint.

A coalition builder by nature, I am a firm believer in respectful discourse. I successfully lobbied for legislation that cut carbon dioxide emissions at the state level and for the G.I. Bill, which ensured proper care of U.S. soldiers and veterans at the federal level. As a Milano student senate representative, I would position this often unheralded branch of The New School to lead the effort towards fostering such a discourse between Students, Faculty, Staff, Alumni, Administrators, the Board of Trustees and, of course, the President.

I co-founded The New School’s chapter of Net Impact, a global network of students and professionals that promotes corporate responsibility and sustainability in business education. Through Net Impact, the University Student Senate, and New School career development leadership, I seek to attract all resources possible to assist my fellow students and alumni in building a durable network, through which they may follow their dreams and be properly compensated for doing so.

At Rutgers College I served as Vice President of Programming as well as President of the Panhellenic Council, and was awarded “exceptional dedication and service to Rutgers” as a student representative to the Board of Trustees, by the President and Vice President for Student Affairs.
