Vote to approve approve $5000 of funding for the Office of Student Development and Activities (OSDA) , who will be organizing another Habitat for Humanity work trip to South Dakota following the Spring semester 2012.

Motion 2: Grace Lee Boggs Workshop
Vote to approve approve $5,000 of funding to co-sponsor a 2-day event with Detroit activist and writer Grace Lee Boggs , who will be hosting a talk and workshop on contemporary political activism titled “Where Do We Go From Here.”

Total Votes: 8 in favor. 6 needed to pass. Motion Passed.

Motion 3: Brazilian Music and Cultural Event
Vote to approve approve an additional $2,792 of funding (for a total of $5,000 approved – $2,208 approved previously) for an evening of Brazilian music, dance, food and fun organized by Jazz student and musician Amanda Ruzza.

Motion 4: SAFC Matching Grants
Vote to approve approve $15,000 of matching funds for The Student Activities Finance Committee (SAFC), which is a student event funding body organized through OSDA. This money would go to double the available funding for groups through OSDA.

Motion 5: Approval of past meeting minutes
Vote to approve past meeting minutes from 11/19, 11/28, and 12/9 2011 meetings of the USS.
