Present: Rachel Housle, Hajir Sailors, Melissa Holmes, Anna-Karin Loureiro, Kim Hurley, Chris Crews
Absent: Nicole Park, Cordelia Eddy, Alex Cline, Minju Bae, Sean Elias
Suspended: Maggie Martin, Barbara DeLaleu and Fonzie Cuaycong remain suspended, and Jake Atchoo is now suspended for non-attendance under Constitution XII G.
1. Budget Proposals
Melissa created a couple of drafts regarding budget proposals coming in to USS. After a semester of receiving proposals and hearing them nearly every week, we decided that we needed a more concrete process to funding proposals.
One of the discussions on funding guidelines was whether or not we would fund honorariums. Anna-Karin asked if honorariums include hotel and travel. We decided to specify wages and presenter travel and lodging in the funding request packet.
Melissa discussed creating a follow-up process for groups that receive funding. She discussed having these groups write a blog or description of the event, as well as include tips for other students having events. Some senators disagreed with the whole concept. Chris stated that we could meet halfway, and have the groups send us pictures of the event.
