MINUTES OF SPECIAL VOTE ON EVENT SCHEDULE
On July 23-27, the University Student Senate took a special vote on a partial fall events plan. All members were notified by email and googlegroup and given five days to reply by email. A debate took place online.
The proposal was that USS sponsor the following events: a Graduate Mixer on September 17, an Undergraduate Mixer on October 3, an Orientation Party as part of Orientation on August 29, and cosponsor an LGBT Mixer (date TBA in September or October) together with OSDA, OPEN, NSGS Deans Office, and Diversity Committee.
The result of the email vote was: YES 9 VOTES (Peter Ian Cummings, Sarah Cunningham, Atlee McFellin, Dan Schulman, Sarah Lopez, Ben Fox, Barb Teed, Yoni Sunshine, Stephanie Cohen), NO 1 VOTE (Ida Benedetto), and 6 members did not vote.
Thus the measure is passed on a 9-1 vote with 9 being a majority, both of the 10 votes cast and of the 16-member senate.
