Newschoolsenate.org is programmed in PHP (pre-hypertext processor) which produces custom HTML pages per instance for the user; and information is stored in a SQL database. The USS Secretary uses FTP clients Fetch and FileZilla, and a customized WordPress client to edit the text of the site on a day-to-day basis — Hey! Newschoolsenate.org won a WordPress showcase award!
Font
Most of the text on this site is generated in HTML using whatever font your system uses. Many headlines are written in Bureau Grotesque 37 Font.
Design
Newschoolsenate.org was designed by Peter Ian Cummings (peterian.com), USS President 2008-09 and Secretary-and-Co-Chair 2009-10, and produced by Tom Rose of slurve.com, a fullservice web production company in Montclair, NJ.
Subsidiary Programming
The poll module used for the Poll on this site is a PHP script, Advanced Poll 2.08. The administrative structure chart was produced by USS Jazz Senator 2008-2010 Ben Fox in a PDF file converted to JPG using Adobe Photoshop. Anti-spam verification uses CAPTCHA.
