2010-11 Election Winners :: Drama
Sean Elias was elected Drama’s Senator for 2010-11.

Sean Elias
Having served on numerous student senate committees on both the graduate and undergraduate level, as well as holding the office of President of the class of 2008 at The University of the Arts, Sean has had ample and adequate experience in lobbying for the rights and needs of his student constituents Sean’s largest accomplishment during his last student senate seat held, was his creation of an arts based teaching collaborative between Emerson College and its MA in Theatre Education degree candidates and the local urbanized youth of Boston’s historic South End. This partnership allowed new student teachers the opportunity to teach in a multicultural educational setting, and get paid, while granting Boston’s youth access to a professional theatrical arena and its technology. As a member of the student senate, Sean will pride himself on the fair and accurate representation of his student body be it personally or collectively. Here at the New School Sean hopes to lobby for a more time sensitive academic schedule, an improvement of the current wireless technology system, a true space for the students of the new school to meet, relax, eat and rehearse other then the small lobby to the new school building, and to create a collaboration between local theaters and youth arts programs, so as to allow for a clear progression of processes for those students who wish to create their own works of art on the many stages that Manhattan has to offer. Sean currently holds a BFA in Musical Theatre from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia and an MA in Theatre Education from Emerson College in Boston, MA. Sean is also a licensed teacher of drama all levels and is a current MFA in Acting candidate at The New School for Drama in New York City.
